Henrik Ambak of Emirates SkyCargo has been appointed chair of Cargo iQ’s board with Kerstin Strauss of Kuehne + Nagel filling the role of vice-chair.

Ambak, senior vice president of cargo operations worldwide at Emirates SkyCargo was formerly vice-chair of the board.

He started his career in freight forwarding and has occupied his role at Emirates SkyCargo since 2014, responsible for service delivery management including overseeing the two terminals in Dubai.

Strauss, the vice president and head of global air logistics operations at Kuehne + Nagel started as an apprentice in 1994, and worked across both air and sea freight before taking up her current role in 2017.

Ambak says the strength of Cargo iQ is the use of its Master Operating Plan as the practical tool for daily planning and execution of service across the globe.

He says: “Cargo iQ has, in reality, only just started as the rapid development of specialised cargo services and the fast spread of disruptive technologies screams for operational facilitation frameworks to serve our clients better and quicker.”

Strauss says: “I am personally excited to join the Board of Cargo iQ as vice-chair and to actively contribute to the expanding objectives that the group is developing in order to address the evolving market demands of the air cargo industry.”
