WACO System members Dimotrans and WWG Consolidators joined forces to transport two turbofan jet engines from Paris to Karachi.

Pakistan-based WWG partnered with French member Dimotrans after the former won the tender to transport an Airbus A320 and a Boeing 777 engine in two separate projects.

The engines were first flown from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Doha and then on to Karachi Jinnah International Airport as replacements for use in grounded aircraft.

As aircraft engines are non-conventional cargo, Hassan Madni, director corporate business development at WWG says the company asked Dimotrans to provide support at the European end of the project.

He says: “WACO is all about being one company in many different countries and both shipments were completed seamlessly thanks to our relationship with our partner in France and their aerospace expertise.”

The CFM56-5B4P A320 engine weighed 8.8 tonnes and the GE90-94B for the 777 weighed 9.8 tonnes.

Louis-Philippe Figueiredo, airfreight director at Dimotrans France says: “Both shipments went smoothly and without problems because of careful pre-flight planning and close coordination with our partner, WWG Consolidators.”
