UPS has expanded its European network from six European countries to Switzerland as part of a redesign and $2 billion network investments across Europe.

The express freight firm says investment in its ground network improves trade opportunities.

Customers in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland and Sweden can now benefit from a faster, cost-effective UPS Standard service improvement of up to two days when shipping to 60 per cent of the population of Switzerland, including the areas around Basel and Zürich.

UPS Europe president, Nando Cesarone says: “With this enhancement, we have now improved our transit times from 22 countries across Europe for our most economical service.”

UPS has committed to invest $2 billion into its European network and infrastructure by 2019. These network upgrades are part of that investment which helps our customers to export their products in a more efficient way.”

The recent ground time in transit improvements are made possible by UPS’s continued investment in it’s integrated transportation network, including several hundred million dollars of investment in facilities in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the UK.
