Leipzig/Halle Airport and Volga Dnepr set up Covid panel discussion

Leipzig/Halle Airport and Volga Dnepr invite people to attend a panel discussion session about the German contribution to distributing COVID-19 vaccinations around the globe.

“What can Germany do to help distribute vaccinations around the globe as quickly and as fairly as possible?” This question is the central focus of a digital panel discussion session, to which Leipzig/Halle Airport and the Russian airline, Volga Dnepr, are inviting people on Friday 2 July 2021, from 15:00. until 16:30 p.m CET. Interested parties can register immediately for the free online event (video livestream) at www.reg.evoletics.de/adkmedien/volga-dnepr.

During the panel discussions, renowned experts from the medical, logistics and political fields will jointly discuss the best way to establish efficient vaccination logistics from Europe to the countries in the southern hemisphere, the difficulties that are expected to arise and how it is possible to ensure fair distribution.

The panel members will include:

–          Katri Bertram, founder of Partners for Impact, formerly at the World Bank

–          Gabriele Pokrandt, Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG

–          Martin Köhnke, the Volga Dnepr Group

–          David Pfrang, Emergency Response Officer, EU

–          Prof. Dr Dr Timo Ulrichs, Epidemiologist and Head of the “International Emergency and Disaster Aid” course at the Akkon University of Applied Sciences for Human Sciences

The audience will also have the opportunity to actively become involved in the discussions via a chat function. The event will also be recorded and will be available for people to watch on the social media channels of the partners involved at a later date.

Following an initial conference in 2019, these panel discussions are the second joint event held by Leipzig/Halle Airport and the Volga Dnepr Group on topics related to humanitarian aid. Another major event is planned for September 2021.
