American Airlines Cargo is preparing itself for a busy summer schedule in Ireland with flights from Chicago, Charlotte, Philadelphia and New York to Dublin, and linking Shannon with Philadelphia.

The Dublin services to Chicago, Philadelphia and Charlotte will benefit from an Airbus A330-200 with up to 15 tonnes of cargo capacity until the end of October, while Dublin to New York will operate with a Boeing 757 ending in October, and Shannon will receive a 757 until September.

American Airlines Cargo regional sales manager of Northern Europe, Andy Cornwell says: “The movement of time-sensitive products for the pharmaceutical industry in Ireland, combined with the correct facilities to handle them, are an expanding part of our business. These flights to key hubs show our commitment to meeting the needs of the cargo community in this region.”

Managing director of American’s Irish GSSA, IAM, Ian McCool says temperature-controlled products have boomed with the launch of ExpediteTC and he has high hopes for the new routes. “With the opening of the airline’s state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility in Philadelphia last year, there has been an even greater requirement for such services, and I believe these summer routes will prove extremely popular.”
