Paul Carmody has been appointed managing director – UK cargo at Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), taking responsibility for all cargo operations in the UK.

Previously the head of UK operations, Carmody has extensive cargo handling industry experience having worked at Menzies Aviation in Canada and the USA before joining WFS in 2009.

Carmody will report directly to executive vice president cargo – Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, John Batten and look after 600,000 tonnes per annum for 40 airline customers at facilities in London, Manchester, Glasgow and regional airports.

Saying that Carmody deserves his promotion, Batten says: “Led by WFS’ core values and our number one priority of delivering the highest standards of safety, security and service, Paul will be responsible for building on our long-term success in the UK cargo handling market by ensuring we consistently meet the expectations of our growing airline customer portfolio.”
