The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has welcomed KLM Cargo and Icelandair Cargo as its newest trustee members.

Both members are long-standing TIACA members and the new status means they will help elect the board of directors that manages affairs and establishes its policy.

Icelandair Cargo serves 54 destinations in Europe and North America including Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and has been a member of TIACA for a number of years.

Managing director, Gunnar Mar Sigurfinnsson says Icelandair wants to play a stronger role in driving forward critical air cargo initiatives and also says: “We also believe it is important that small to medium sized companies like us are given a stronger voice, as we look to streamline processes and ensure better harmony across the global air cargo community.”

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo serves 457 destinations from its Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol hubs, and Air France KLM Cargo executive vice president, Marcel de Nooijer says: “We feel it is very important to work closely together with other supply chain stakeholders and support the active role of TIACA in stipulating an industry unified voice when it comes to discussing industry developments with regulators.”
