Schiphol Group appoints new board member

The Schiphol Group, operator of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, has appointed André van den Berg to the management board.

He joins as the new executive vice president and chief commercial officer with effect from 1 April 2016 and takes over from Maarten de Groof. Previously he was director of Schiphol Real Estate for eight years.

Schiphol Group President and chief executive officer, Jos Nijhuis says: “Over the years he has made AirportCity Schiphol even more dynamic and attractive, gaining in-depth insight into the various aspects of our organisation and partners within the Mainport.

“André is an inspired professional and, above all, a highly valued colleague. We are convinced that his many qualities will prove to be of enormous value for the future development of Schiphol Group.”

As from 1 April 2016, the management board will consist of Jos Nijhuis, chief financial officer, Els de Groot, chief operating officer, Birgit Otto and chief commercial officer, André van den Berg.
