Singapore Changi Airport registered a year-on-year (YOY) increase of 9.8 per cent in airfreight throughput in September to 183,560 tonnes.

In the first nine months of the year, the gateway has handled 1.56 million tonnes, a YOY rise of 8.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2016.

Among Changi’s top 10 cargo markets, Germany (+27 per cent) was the fastest growing airfreight market, which has seen strong YOY growth across all cargo flows.

As at 1 October 2017, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi, connecting Singapore to some 380 cities in about 90 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 7,000 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands roughly once every 90 seconds.
