Southco renews contract with DHL for four more years

DHL Global Forwarding has had its contract renewed by Southco for another four years to be the firm’s sole global logistics provider.

Southco is a provider of engineered access hardware and DHL will work over air, ocean, domestic and customs brokerage services on various trade lanes.

DHL Global Forwarding ships a variety of its latches, hinges and engineered access hardware products between Southco’s 17 engineering and manufacturing locations in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific .

DHL Global Forwarding senior vice-president for marketing and sales in Asia Pacific, Piak-Hwee Tan says: “Their renewal of the DHL contract for another four years is testament to their confidence in our track record of delivering to their expectations. Our experienced team will continue to optimise their supply chain between South China and the US.”

Southco’s global supply chain director, Paul Smith says the relationship it has developed with DHL has been crucial to the success of manufacturing facilities “maintaining a continuous production flow, allowing it to get products to the market faster”.

He adds: “With DHL Global Forwarding’s presence in the markets where we operate, it has helped us minimise or avoid unnecessary disruptions to our supply chain during any type of natural disaster or major event.”
