Strike action on Thursday forces Alitalia to cancel flights

Alitalia says it pledges to “minimise inconvenience” due to strikes scheduled on 23 February – which is forcing it to cancel 60 per cent of its flights aand set to impact cargo on some trade lanes.

The 24-hour strike has been called by the USB and CUB Trasporti trade unions, together with ANPAC and ANPAV professional associations.

International and domestic flights set to operate during the peak times between 07:00h to 10:00h and from 18:00h to 21:00h will operate as scheduled.

On the same day, the confederal Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl-Ta trade unions have also confirmed a four hours strike (from 14:00h to 18:00h).

Alitalia also says bigger aircraft will operate on several domestic and international routes.
