Cargolux Airlines International has banned the transport of game hunting trophies on board its aircraft with immediate effect, joining a growing list of airlines refusing to carry hunting shipments.

As part of its Live Animal transportation policy, Cargolux says it is committed to animal welfare, operating in full compliance with the IATA Live Animals Regulations and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.

Cargolux president and chief executive officer, Richard Forson says: “This practice does not align with the company’s ethical engagements and policies, we can therefore no longer accept these shipment requests. Cargolux is committed to building a sustainable business model and this includes preserving the environment and its natural resources.”
