Huntington Tri-State Airport in the US has received a federal grant of nearly $1.3 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to make improvements.

The airport says the money will be used to rehabilitate aprons, which will improve commercial, cargo and general aviation services.

The gateway’s director, Jerry Brienza says Tri-State is fortunate to in West Virginia to have “knowledgeable legislators” who recognise the “importance of maintaining the aviation infrastructure throughout the state”.

FedEx Feeder has services at Tri-State, which are operated by Mountain Air Cargo, a contract carrier for FedEx Express, while Allegiant Air is the main scheduled carrier and American Eagle has services operated by Piedmont Airlines.
